Veterinary Hospitalization for your Pet

Our veterinarians and support team are trained to help critically ill and injured pets.   From 8 AM to close, there is always a veterinarian on the premises to accept urgent or emergent cases and our facility includes comfortable spaces for hospitalized pets to be closely monitored.  Rest assured that we are here for you and your furry family member.

Hospitalization for Medical Cases

Patients that require intravenous fluids, frequent injections, frequent tests or other in-depth care will be housed in our hospitalization area for close observation.   This area is in our treatment room where our veterinarians and veterinary staff work throughout the day so many eyes are on them.  Hospitalized patients may stay just for the day or for several nights.   If overnight monitoring is required,  we may advise you to transfer to one of the nearby veterinary emergency facilities.

Hospitalization after Surgery

At Indian Trail Animal Hospital, we are able to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures including orthopedic, cancer and emergency surgeries. Many of these patients will require hospitalized post operatively. Our hospitalization area is equipped and staffed to aid our patients in a gentle, safe and painfree recovery. After surgery, these patients are admitted into our surgical hospitalized patient area to optimize the recovery process. Our veterinary doctors and technicians will care for your pet as if it was their own to insure a gentle surgical recovery and in preparation for their return home.

Isolation

At Indian Trail Animal Hospital, we have an isolation unit for specialized cases.  A pet that is contagious or could be contagious will be housed and cared for in our isolation unit utilizing careful procedures and protocols.  A window from our main hospital into the hospitalized area means that they receive careful monitoring even while minimizing the ingress and egress of the room.

When Can Your Pet Leave The Hospital?

Your companion should stay in the hospital until its medical conditions have stabilized, and the in-home care you can provide will be sufficient to support them through the rest of their recovery. We do not like to keep animals away from their families any longer than absolutely necessary, but it is important to understand that  hospitalized care and monitoring may be necessary after some surgical procedures and medical emergencies. Our goal is to make sure that your beloved companion can return home safely and enjoy a full recovery.

While everyone hopes to avoid an emergency situation with their pet, we are here for you during the time when you need us. At Indian Trail Animal Hospital we are committed to providing the highest quality veterinary care when you and your pet when us most.

If overnight care is needed, we will advise you to transfer to one of the nearby veterinary emergency facilities.
