Dr. Zakiya Mudiwa grew up in Richmond, VA, and took her love for animals to NC State. After completing her undergraduate degree she earned her DVM at Tuskegee University, the only historically black college with a school of veterinary medicine.

Dr. Mudiwa, better known as Dr. Z, enjoys dentistry and soft tissue surgery and is looking forward to adding acupuncture therapy to her repertoire.

When she is not at work, Dr. Z enjoys exploring the foodie scene in Charlotte, traveling the world, and spoiling her chihuahua mix Chico.
